Fun fraction and equal sharing

This week Room 10 learned equal sharing using our fraction knowledge. 

We shared a piece of cookie, and fuit tart with friends.

Sometimes we cut them in half to share between two people, and sometimes we cut in quarters to share between four people.

On Friday, Miss Joo brought some apples, pears, and melons to share.

We divided a piece of apple and pear in half and shared with a partner. We also cut a piece of melon in quarters and shared with a partner.

At the end of this lesson we ate them! They were delicious and we enjoyed it very much!

Fire safety with Fire fighters

On Wednesday amazing fire fighters visited our school with fire engine to teach us about fire safety.

First we went to the hall to meet fire fighters and watched them putting on their special fire fighter's gear. We also listened to how to be safe when there is a fire.

Then we went outside to get a chance to climb up into the fire engine and observe the inside.

It was incredible and we had a lot of fun!

Maths: we are learning to count objects in 10s.

Today we learned counting objects in 10s. Room 10 kids are very good at counting in 10s and we wanted to use this skill in counting different things.

If we learn counting objects in 10s, we will be able to count to hundred (or more!!) FASTER!!
